FAQ
UTM and lead source tracking FAQ
Why webhooks rather than a pixel?
A pixel has to survive ad-blockers, a checkout redirect and the customer closing the tab. An official order webhook comes from the store itself, so the order is recorded whether or not the browser cooperated.
Are returns handled?
Yes, and they matter more in ecommerce than anywhere else. A refunded order stops counting as revenue for the channel it was credited to.
Does this need a cookie?
The browse session and the order are joined by a first-party visitor id, never a cross-site identifier. On the standard tracker that id lives in first-party localStorage; enable Cookieless Mode, a paid-plan setting, and nothing is stored on the device at all.
